Life
Enrichment Center
Materials especially adapted for small group learning
and interaction.
- Bi-Folkal Kits prompt the sharing of memories on a variety of
themes--heroes of the depression, for instance, or school days;
in addition, the
kits lend themselves exceptionally well to intergenerational discussions.
- The Discovery Through the Humanities series, on loan to our
library from the North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement,
provides
excellent opportunities for continuing education among small
groups of older adults
- Finally, a small collection of adaptive games and learning tools
will be of interest to caregivers of those with diminished
cognitive skills.
- The Life Enrichment Center is a component of The Senior Resource
Center. Created especially for Polk County residents who
are over the age of 55, The Senior Resource Center is made possible
by a
U.S. Department of Education LSCA (Library Services and
Construction
Act)
grant administered by the State Library of North Carolina.
