Friends of the LibraryThe purpose of the Friends of the Polk County Public Library is to contribute to positive relations between the Library and its constituents by working within the Library Director's guidelines and the Library's current objectives to stimulate benefactions to the Library and promote support and knowledge of, and informed interest in, the resources, services, facilities, and needs of the Library. Current Officers of the Friends of the Library are: Officers: Melody Gibson, President Mary Jean Fischer, Secretary Roberta Hensley, Treasurer Marian Bryan Lummie King Vacant
Roberta Kellerman- Vice President Mark Pumphrey Sally Dayvault Jeanne Mills Sharon Zink The Friends of the Library publish a newsletter, operate a bookstore within the lobby of the library, conduct books sales usually twice a year, and offer two public lectures during the year on Sunday afternoons at the Library featuring speakers who address topics of local interest. The are held during the annual meeting in Nov./Dec. and the spring meeting in April/May). The Friends co-sponsor additional programs throughout the year.
